Class: Yoga for Strong Bones

Nancy has been practicing yoga for over 30 years. Her goal with teaching is to provide a safe and enjoyable Yoga practice for beginning and intermediate students.
She is certified to teach Yoga for Osteoporosis from Dr. Loren Fishman. Wolff’s Law states that bones will strengthen in the direction of applied force, when subject to increased load. This yoga method uses poses through long holds (30-60 seconds) to strengthen bones, focusing primarily on the spine and hips. In addition to the 12 basic poses, she teaches tips on posture, balance and breath.
Nancy believes that each student has his or her own path through the class and offers guidance. Her classroom is a safe place for all students, regardless of the life they walk in with. She offers time to reflect, breath, stretch, balance and strengthen. The sequence is based on safety before all else.
