Casey’s journey in dance began in Rhode Island, where her childhood dance studio experiences inspired her dream of owning her own studio. Embraced by a close-knit, family-like community, she danced there until she graduated high school.
Casey pursued her education at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts, earning degrees in both Elementary Education and Math. During her college years, she was a dedicated member of the university’s dance company, serving as a dancer, tap choreographer, and executive board member. After graduation, she became a second-grade teacher for three years, later obtaining her Master’s Degree in STEM Leadership. She then transitioned to an elementary STEAM Specialist position, where she taught over 600 students weekly across two schools over four years.
While teaching in the public school system, Casey continued to prioritize and keep dance in her life. She taught at four different dance studios, instructing both recreational and competitive classes and choreographing various routines. Her dedication extended to DanceWorks Boston, where she danced for six years and contributed multiple tap pieces throughout ten seasons. She also performed and trained with Fourth Dimension Tap Company, a professional tap company in Boston, for a year.
Relocating from Massachusetts to North Carolina marked a significant step as Casey left her teaching role and various dance engagements to fulfill her dream of opening her own studio. She is thrilled to bring her extensive dance training and teaching experience to the students and families of Chapel Hill. Casey is eager to cultivate a nurturing and inspiring environment, sharing her passion for dance with the community.
